LAUNCH DAY


Was thrilled to finally launch my new novel, BOYS IN THE VALLEY!

The reception I received from social media platforms was overwhelming and wonderful and completely unexpected. And the response from early readers was incredible - folks genuinely seemed to be excited by the book and after a full day of reading reviews and reposting amazing images from around the world, I was ready to get out there and officially kick off the BOYS Summer Tour.



My first event was at VILLAGE WELL in Culver City, CA, just a hop and a skip from my house. I was fortunate enough to have a dear friend, BRIAN EVENSON, on hand to help with the event itself, asking great questions about the book and leading the discussion with the folks who came out.



I also did a 10-minute reading, which I'll likely have memorized by the time the tour is over! Followed of course by a signing for those in attendance, as well as signing a dozen or so books for folks who couldn't make it and had pre-ordered through the store (thank you!).


In addition to seeing a few readers I'd interacted with on social media, it was so nice to have some good friends in the house as well as some author friends, including fellow Nightfire scribe LIZ KERIN and my buddy BRIAN McAULEY.

The event itself went so great. My thanks to Tom, the event coordinator, and Colin, another horror author who was on hand to make sure everything went smoothly. Thanks to Jennifer, the owner, for having me and supporting the book.

After the event a bunch of us trekked through downtown Culver City to one of my favorite haunts, The Backstage Bar, where we hung out, ate burgers, drank scotch, and talked all things writing. 

A memorable night!

NASHVILLE!

Parnassus Bookstore Nashville, TN August 15, 2023 Nashville After making the longest drive of the entire tour (a whopping nine hours!), we finally arrived in Nashville to prepare for the big event at Parnassus Books. I was especially excited about this one because I'd be meeting up with friends from Los Angeles who had recently relocated, as well as my buddies Greg Greene and Jeff Terry, who promoted the event tirelessly, with Jeff handling MC duties while also recording the entire event for his incredible YouTube channel, The Jeff Word . We stayed the night with our transplanted friends and their lovely kids, then experienced a little bit of downtown Nashville, cruising a stretch called "Whiskey Row" which was... uh... loud. And crowded. And loud. And not so great. But hey! Folks seemed to be drinking and having fun... at 10am. But hey! All good. I did enjoy seeing the Johnny Cash Museum - the Man in Black is a favorite of mine. After that was over we headed to Parnassus
